Winter wildlife census at Union Slough Refuge
Biology instructor Joe Collier and 25 students aided by Conservation Officers L F Tellier and W Macheak and biologist Eddie Mustard conducted the annual survey on February 21. The 1709 pheasants and other species counted mark the second winter with student help and the third year of a full refuge census, with technical aid from the Conservation Commission.
