Student reports cover six weeks tests and progress across grades from Freshman Home Ec to Sixth Grade. Notable items include A and B grades in spelling, science reviews, English pronouns study, and radio commercials. A Home Project meeting took place at Minne Frimms home with 14 ladies in attendance. The lesson covered Consumer’s Lakola and Trademarks and a follow up meeting is scheduled for March 9 at Mrs Theron Hansens home for stencil work enthusiasts.
Wesley Independent boys basketball team defeated Mason City Legion 63 to 50 on Friday night. In the same venue, the local alumni girls lost to the high school team 50 to 39.
Irene Baade daughter of Mr and Mrs Dick Baade married Donald Baker son of Mrs Florence Hannum of San Francisco on February 14 at Christchurch Lutheran. Rev Bentram Dallman officiated with only Mr and Mrs Gene Gardner of San Francisco attending. The couple will reside at 512 Frederick St San Francisco where Mrs Baker works as a bookkeeper and Mr Baker manages the Glen-Ei cafe after a Los Angeles honeymoon.
A columnist outlines the new county board of education election method. District No 1 voters in Springiffield Hebron Ledyard Lincoln Ramsey and German Townships plus Lakota Independent Ledyard Consolidated and Buffalo Consolidated select candidates C R Krantz Swen Larson or D C Frietz. At large voters outside Buffalo Consolidated Lakota Independent Ledyard Consolidated Burt Independent and Algona Independent choose G D Welhausen Titanika H W Linde or Swea City. The March 8 election marks the first direct county board vote.
Heavy rainfall followed by light snow left neighborhood roads in terrible condition for a time as ground stayed frozen and drainage failed. Creeks and ditches flooded, several bridges and grades were submerged, and basements saw water. Traffic diverted to alternate routes. roads remained tricky until conditions improved. Evangelistic services announced for March 7 to 21 with evenings every day except Saturday.

Rev. Roskamp of Alexander, Town, has accepted a call to the Ramsey Reformed church which has been without a pastor for several months and will take over his duties here April 1. He preached at Ramsey before and accepted the call Monday after visiting. He served in the army and in India. He has one son in service. Rev. and Mrs. Roskamp have five sons and two daughters.

Rev F B Dodd led the first evangelistic service at Doan, describing Chicago’s Pacific Garden Mission. He spoke of large crowds turned away for lack of room and noted weather hardships for the homeless. Services run nightly at 8 except Saturday, with a closing Doan service and a two week campaign starting Sunday at Titanica church.
Vincent Matz was taken to the General hospital at Algona after an auto accident and is reported improving but not yet allowed visitors except family members.

Ramsey Reformed Church holds Sunday School at 9 30 a m and Morning Worship at 10 30 a m led by Rev EB Kampman of Meservey. The monthly mission offering will be received. No evening services.
The Farmers Elevator Co reported a yearly business of 1,388.00 with a fair turnout despite bad roads and weather. Alfred Ovaberrchor and George Peterson were re elected to the board. Herman Tjarks was elected director after Roy Budlong. Officers remain Peterson president and Nelson vice president.
The all day work session moved from last week to March 9 at the Lloyd Bartlett home with Mary Michaelson and Flossie Bartlett as co hosts. If weather disrupts travel the meeting will be held at the Legion hall on the same date. Plan to attend as important work lies ahead.
Voters head to the Legion Hall from 12 to 7 PM Monday March 8 for a school election. Ballots will elect local school directors and treasurer, plus four County Board of Education members including one at large from rural districts. Candidates include Clifford Krantz Garret Welhausen H W Linde Arthur Hench Maurice Keil Clarence Mechler Oscar Norland.
