Doyle Reaser remains ill with pneumonia after a two month work period following a prior attack. He operates a drill press in an Algona factory and has been home since Friday. Weekend visitors included Henry Spear, Johnnie Harms, Hank Ites at Robert Spear Sr. home. Dennis Dreesman left after a 14 day leave with parents. training at San Diego and now to Jacksonville, Florida for Navy aviation duty.

Car Crash Near Forest City Injures Mrs Brown
A Sunday accident west of Forest City left Mrs. C. E. Brown with a broken right arm while Mr. Brown endured only bruises. They were riding with Mr. and Mrs. Martin Eames who suffered a dislocated shoulder for Mrs. Eames. Mr. Eames uninjured. The vehicle rolled on a slippery road in rain.

Immanuel Lutheran Church Hosts Shower and Notices
The Immanuel Lutheran church ladies hosted a cash and linen shower with a program by the Luther League including readings dialogues and group singing followed by refreshments. Miss Diers and Rev Clarence A Brauer plan to wed at Immanuel church on Friday June 22. Rev and Mrs Wm Plant visited from La Porte City to see daughter Mrs Forest Rede and family. Billy Ward has returned home on a 30 day navy leave from a west coast ship. he has not seen his wife and eldest daughter since last August and his five month old baby since February.
