Arlene Hansen wed Garfield Seehawer at the First Methodist Church Mason City at noon May 25 in a double ring ceremony. Attendants included Mervyn Hansen and wife. The couple planned a two‑course dinner at Badmar Hotel and a brief honeymoon before settling in Mason City. Mrs Seehawer is a Buffalo Consolidated high school and Hamilton School of Commerce graduate, employed at First National Bank. Mr Seehawer is a former service member and works at Stoddard Mfg Co.

Rodman to Meet Titonka in Border League Showdown

Rodman, a top Border League newcomer with three wins and one loss, travels to face Titonka next Sunday. Titonka, expected in good form, aims to challenge the visitors while other league games were completed last Sunday. Titonka’s Swea City match was postponed to a later date.

Memorial Day Service in Woden Honored Fallen Soldiers

The American Legion Post 628 held its first Memorial Day service at Bingham cemetery on Friday May 30 at 10 am. Scouts and auxiliaries joined. Barbara Gerdes placed a wreath, a firing squad fired taps sounded, and Luther Larson delivered the welcome. Names of deceased soldiers from Civil War through World War II were read.

Ramsey Reformed Church Mission Festival June 12

Ramsey Reformed Church four miles north of Titonka will host its annual mission festival on Thursday June 12 with an all day program. German worship at 10 00 English services at 2 00 and 8 00 with dinner and supper served. Guest speakers include Rev Albert Kinsler Rev Albert Linnemann and Rev Evert Van Engelenhoven. The event aims to strengthen attendees through prayers and Word and will feature church choir music and Sunday School activities. 1 782 cars ran off roads Town last year and 88 deaths occurred.

Boeckholt burial held at Ramsey cemetery

Funeral services for Anton Boeckholt were held May 19 at Schutter funeral home Buffalo Center and at the First Reformed Church with Rev. J D Engels in charge Interment was in Ramsey Reformed Church Cemetery Born February 26 1873 in Ostfriesland Germany he came to America in 1892 He married Jennie Busenga January 23 1895 and farmed in Titonka area They had 12 children He died May 14 at age 74 after a heart attack Surviving are wife five sons and four daughters, three brothers, 28 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren Numerous relatives attended the service.

Buffalo Center Man Dies in Ditch Cave-In

Russell Kingsbury 34, of Buffalo Center, died in an 18 foot ditch cave-in one mile south of Bancroft on Tuesday afternoon around 5. He had just begun a tile machine ditch across from Leonard Johnson’s when the trench collapsed burying him up to his neck. Fellow workers and the ditch gave way. Kingsbury, a drag line operator for Lenny Harmon, died despite pulmotor aid from Buffalo Center fire chief George Beazing. A South Pacific veteran, he was not married.
