William Brandt twelve year old adopted son of Willam Zeigler, who died at his Connecticut summer home, poised to inherit about 25 million. Born in Muscatine July 28 1892, he has lived with Zeigler since age three after estrangement from his father George Brandl. His mother is daughter of William Huttit of Muscatine, now Mrs Conrail Haney of Newark New Jersey. The boy uses a wheeled chair after school injury but doctors expect recovery. Col W H Luitlig of Muscatine is an uncle of the heir. His father made his fortune in baking powder in Chicago.
In a federal court in Sioux County May 88 the case of W. J. Brown, once a Storm Lake banker, moved toward closing arguments. W. E. Brown testified detailing how he near the Des Moines National Bank records and a $10,000 certificate of deposit were altered.
