Bingham Boosters 4-H held June meeting with July 25 achievement show, camp at Clear Lake, and fundraising events at Woden to support youth programs.
Joyce Marlene Aukes daughter of Mr and Mrs Ben Aukes of Woden and Jerry Rust of Kanawha were married June 21 at First Methodist Church in Albert Lea Minnesota. Attendants were Marilyn Aukes and Richard Rust. Nuptial music by Karen Brown. Wedding supper at Hotel Albert Spanish Room after the ceremony. Reception held July 6 at the bride’s parents home.
The Titonka town council in Kossuth County Iowa will convene August 4 1958 at 7 30 P M at the Legion Hall. Taxpayers may speak for or against the proposed expenditures for 1959 with a detailed receipts and disbursements statement available at the hearing. Sybil Freerksen Town Clerk.
The Portland Social Club met Thursday afternoon July 10 at Mrs C L Young’s home with about 14 members present. Guests included Mrs Harold Bates of California and three children. A white elephant roll was held. The next meeting will be August 7 at Mrs John Carlson’s home due to the fair. Several relatives visited the Jandl family from Milaca and Burt for the Fourth, including Mennet Trunkhill, Clarence Diers, Hanford Brooks, Gary Sengbusch, Miss Valentine, Miss Stecker, Joe Heaney and Donna, and Lowell Bylander’s family from Lurston Minnesota.
Numerous relatives and friends visited and dined with local families over the weekend. Guests included Martha Davis and her daughter. Douglas, Karen and Keith Jandl. Ramon's Bisque family from Iron River. Darwin Sengbusch from Milaca. the Jandl grandparents. the Sydnes and Roger of Ames. Arky Nelsons new Tacoma home. Bob Wagnon and Stevie from St. Joseph. multiple dinner and shower attendances. and a large Sunday dinner with the Trenarys, Bartletts, and others at various homes.
