Mr and Mrs Clare Skattebo of Ringsted and Mr and Mrs Eugene Meyer of Burt announce the engagement of their daughter Kathryn Marie to Joel David. An August 17 wedding is planned.
The informal night club style event features the Junior High Band Girls Glee and High School Jazz Lab Ensemble performing Yesterday When I Was Young Day Is Done and Carpenters numbers with Moog accompaniment. Advance tickets are 1.00 for adults and 50 cents for students.

The American Legion Auxiliary will not meet on the regular date but will convene Monday February 11 at 7 30 p m at Gertrude Rike’s home with Galena Zwiefel as co host.

Quentin R. Boyken son of Mr and Mrs Edward Boyken of Titonka was elected treasurer of Lambda Chi Alpha at Iowa State University. He is a 1972 Titonka High School graduate and a sophomore majoring in Industrial Administration. The Iowa State chapter was installed in 1909 as the 38th chapter and Lambda Chi Alpha now has over 200 chapters nationwide.
Jack Trunkhill swept three first places at the North Kos suth County Bowling Tournament in Bancroft. He won singles with 711, doubles with Red Larson, and all events totaling 1922 as he averaged about 190 in the nine line handicap tourney. Thermagas led team scores with 3098 among 48 doubles entries.
The Titanka School Board will hold its next regular meeting at 7 00 p m on Monday Feb 11 in the school office.
The Titanica Lions Club hosts a Tuesday night basketball event at 7 30 p m featuring Minnesota Vikings stars and area coaches with local players from Titonka Buffalo Center Lincoln Central Led yard and Mariamville. Tickets 2 00 for adults 1 50 for children with a half time drawing for 12 signed miniature footballs.
Mr and Mrs Robert Spears will celebrate their Golden Wedding with an open house at their home from 2 to 4 on Sunday February 10 hosted by their children. All friends and relatives are invited and gifts are not requested.
Residents of rural Titonka gather to honor Immanuel Lutheran Church on its 75th anniversary with a January 31 service led by Rev. Bruno Schlachtenhausen of Des Moines, a noon pot luck and an afternoon program. The piece chronicles the church’s history from 1899, listing early pastors, society formations, building milestones, and ongoing congregation activity.
The Titonka Federated Club elected officers for 1974 1975 at a January 24 meeting hosted by Helen Schuster. Officers named were Karen Krantz president Jo Anne Van Hove vice president Vicki Boelman secretary Fern Boekelman treasurer Doris Sathoff historian and Donna Kitzinger executive board member. A February ? meeting at Lu dy Hansen's home includes a cake decorating demo by Mrs Russell Kauffman and door prizes.
Good Hope Lutheran Church invites the public to a Sunday evening concert on February 3 at 7 30 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The Chi Centra Singers, 25 high school students from seven denominations, will perform. Coffee will be served after the session.
The Titonka Care Center forms a review committee to assess each resident’s needs and care. Members include Rev. Henry Bank president Rev. John E Janssen secretary and Revs Herb Hansen and Paul Hansen of Titonka. Families receive letters due by February 15.
