J O Paxson Dies. longtime Kossuth Mutual secretary
Jd O Paxson, 77, secretary of the Kossuth County Mutual Insurance Co for 18 years, died Thursday evening. Funeral services were held Saturday in Mineral. He leaves a daughter Mrs F B Schaffer of Mason City, two sons Dana Paxson of Algona and another son in Delta California. Paxson had 30 years in Algona’s insurance business and was secretary from 1914 until recently when ill health prompted retirement. Dana elected secretary at a courthouse meeting last week. Born in Lancaster County Pennsylvania April 13 1856, he moved to Kossuth County in 1876 and worked in Riverdale and Algona before joining the local firm. He was a member of the Friends Quaker church and Masonic Lodge.

Scouts Reorganize Troop Adds New Members
Roy Scouts met Monday after reorganizing the Ti tankea Boy Scout Troop with Rey Baul as Scoutmaster. Seven new members joined and several passed tests will soon receive Tenderfoot badges.
