Mary Ash Fairbanks Obituary in Burt Iowa
Mrs. Mary Ash Fairbanks died Tuesday evening January 6 at her daughter Mrs Wim Cooper’s home in Burt. Born November 14, 1825 near Mount Vernon Ohio she lived with her father’s family 28 years then moved to Madison Wisconsin. She married Luther Fairbanks September 13 1859 in York Wisconsin and had four children G A Fairbanks J J Fairbanks Amelia Rennig Nellie Cooper. The family settled in Kossuth county five miles east of Burt in 1864. She and her husband remained until about two years ago when he joined her in Burt. She joined the Methodist church in 1887. Funeral services were held at her home conducted by Rev K J Meaulay with interment in Portland Cemetery beside her husband.
