Iowa Peace Officers Back Lab Plan At University

Iowa peace officers propose establishing a scientific crime detection laboratory at the University of Iowa. The plan comes from the Sheriffs Association, County Attorneys Association, Chiefs of Police, Policemen's Association, and League of Iowa Municipalities and will be submitted to the legislature. The Peace Officers' Short Course at Iowa in 1987 and 1988 educated nearly 250 officers in fingerprinting, toxicology, pathology, arrest procedures, and crime scene techniques.

Constipation and Pimples Linked in Old Ad Claim

A fragmented 19th century ad quote from Verna Schlepp claims Adlerika clears pimples by cleansing the bowels and easing constipation. The odd attribution mentions a Dr. W. J. Denton and a drug laboratory as part of the historical texture and garbled 1848 reference.
