New Relief Rules Ordered By County Board Overseer

At the last Board of Supervisors meeting Fred C. Zwietel of Fenton was named Overseer of the Poor. A rule requires that relief requests show Form 184-84 or Form 32 or Form 25 signed by the Overseer or a county board member before relief goods are issued. Those seeking relief must be ready to work to cover the relief value. Current relief work includes hiring at the new dam north of Algona for Golf State Park and sewing for the poor at Bryant school. Additional projects may open, with rules prohibiting relief while consuming a dog, an automobile, or a radio. Men are also doing corn-picking on twenty acres reserved by the State Fish and Game Commission to feed game birds. The Overseer plans thorough investigation to prevent duplications, with praise for Zwietel and Supervisor W. E. Me on ard’s work. Relief work is now overseen by the County Overseer to avoid duplication. Mr and Mrs Menno Rising are the parents of a son Menno Dean born at Buffalo Center hospital January avd.
