Civil War Veteran Given Increased Pension to 72 Monthly
Mr David 4 Blue of Otho Webster county, a Civil War veteran, has been granted a pension increase to 72 per month. The House passed the annual agricultural appropriation bill without the seed distribution line, saving about 360000 for the government. The bill includes reprints of Diseases of Cattle and Diseases of the Horse. The President vetoed the Burdett pension bill on January 4, and a House Senate veto override seems unlikely.

Why Shouldn t They Payzan Tax In Iowa’s Twin Cities
Waterloo and Cedar Falls, miles apart, are linked by three railroads, an interurban, and a highway system. A bus service between the two cities has drawn riders from the interurban line, forcing its equipment to be retired and fares cut from 26 to 15 cents. Black Hawk county taxpayers oppose the bus traffic hurting paving upkeep, and the coming legislature may consider a motor bus tax.
