Amos Kromminga Sr. was seriously injured when a large tree toppled during wood cutting at Helmers farm north of town. The fall struck him, fracturing three dorsal vertebrae and causing internal injuries. He was moved to Kossuth Hospital in Algona at six, with several weeks of confinement anticipated.

4 H Short Course Attendees Return After Livestock Judging
Merle and Glen Miller Edgar Rippentrop Jimmy Huber and Robert Schutter returned from Amos where they attended the Boys Short Course in the senior division. They registered and judged livestock and grain, attended athletics at the State Gymnasium, and heard talks by Sam Risk and Phil Sproul. Kosattty County placed sixth in livestock judging with Edgar Rippentrop taking sixteenth. over 700 boys competed. Garman Church to Hold 10 30 Service With New Communion
