Last Rites Held for Mrs Herman Mechlar
Mrs. Herman Mechlar died at her home Friday December 30 after years of invalid life. Born in Mechlenburg Germany November 15 1868 she emigrated to America at nine and lived in Iowa City Titonka and Crookston before settling near Titonka. She leaves husband Herman two sons Elmer and Clarence daughter Vera and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Titonka Lutheran church Monday at 2 pm with Rev H H Schoenlein officiating in English and German. Burial followed at Buffalo Cemetery.

Fifty Years of Marriage Celebrated by Winter Family
Christmas Day 1932 marked the fiftieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Winter at their rural home near the city. Family gathered for a threefold celebration: golden anniversary, Christmas, and a family reunion. The Winters, natives of Germany, farmed near Titonka and later moved to town, where they’ve lived for about twenty years. Four sons Abbs, Bill, Boko, and Henry, plus seventeen grandchildren, attended. A noon turkey dinner and a wedding cake by Earl Christen highlighted the event, with gifts from children and families. Mr. Winter remains vigorous. Mrs. Winter, though ill at times, maintains a sunny spirit. The couple’s siblings and Mrs. Winter’s sister also attended, and many friends offered congratulations as they enter the second half of their century together.

Wm Ricklets and Constable Stew art Burt pursued Howard Johnson across Iowa Falls and adjoining towns armed with a warrant for a $200 drill stolen from Kossuth county. Survived by wife Emily Newville and eight children including Julia Taft Mayme Sprecker bred Jennings Minnie Larsen John Jennings Lillian Graham Fannie Sprecker and many grandchildren. Funeral New Year's Day at M B church and Buffalo township cemetery conducted by Rev Framont Faul with Buffalo lodge Odd Fellows.
