Question Box on Sealing Corn and Insurance Fees
A service charge of 1 count per bushel applies to all producers sealing corn across Iowa. Primary insurance must be obtained with an acceptable certificate attached to the loan. Secondary insurance will be provided by the Commodity Credit Corporation to cover risks not in the primary policy and to protect lenders and the CCC against errors. The insurer costs are paid from the 1 cent service fee transmitted by the County AAA Committee. Mixing white and yellow corn incurs a 2 cent per bushel deduction.
