Marie Buffington daughter of Mia and Alice Buffington marries Elmo Vinning of Osage in an eight oclock morning service at the Catholic church. Dorothy and Bill Gulllis witnessed the single ring ceremony. A breakfast followed for immediate families. The couple leaves for Chicago and other points after a brief reception. The bride, a graduate of Osage High School and Iowa State Teachers College, has taught in Osage schools. They will reside on a farm near Osage.

Burt 4-H Girl Wins Beautification of Grounds Contest
Miss Winifred Plumb, 19, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Plumb, won the 4-H home grounds beautification contest in Kossuth county earning a gold medal and later honorable mention in the state contest. With family help a corn crib was moved, a lawn seeded, a rock garden created from a dump shed, an outdoor living room built, a perennial hedge planted, vines and boxes added, and a picket fence screened the lawn and drying area. She also received the 4-H club pin for designing the prize winning cover for the forthcoming 4-H hook.

Nick Willger 78 retired farmer is recovering at home after being hit by Wart Miller of Algona at the State and Minnesota streets corner as he started across the pavement.
