Dlisworth Otto Slack born November 30 1890 in Bogota taught rural schools near Bogota for ten years married Grace Reed two children Violet Buffington and Neil Slack moved to Iowa in 1818 managed farmers elevators at Livermore and Titonia later worked as a nurse at Aw-gwah-ching state sanitarium. He died January 24 1946 after heart illness survived by widow Grace Slack daughter Nell Slack two sisters a brother four grandchildren and many friends.

Returned Soldier to Be at Good Hope Next Monday
Corporal Howard Vogel a veteran of over five years in the army with overseas service will address American Lutheran church members at Good Hope on Monday evening February 11. He will present a colored sound motion picture filmed in New Guinea by Chaplain Major Arnold Manhs. The event supports Foreign Mission Reconstruction and Development, aiding three quarters of a million dollars for mission fields in New Guinea and India. Vogel, from Madison Wisconsin, traveled to New Guinea and Australia during service and plans to study theology at Wartburg College before entering ministry.
