Woden neighbors visit and army departure noted
A long page of society notes records visits among Woden and surrounding towns, mentioning John and Freda Boyken of Woden, many family calls, hospital stays in Rochester and Mason City, an Ubben skating party, and Ubbe Ubben leaving for the army. Several journeys to Algona, Buffalo Center, and Mason City are listed, along with local club meetings and social events.
Town happenings show weekly social calls and meetings
Bill Ward reports a busy week of visits across Britt and nearby communities. Calls included Meyer and Sena Isebrand households, Petersons of Crystal Lake, Krantz of Swen City, and multiple gatherings at the Friest, Falk, Dennis, and Schutter homes. Also noted were Farm Bureau director meetings, a co operatives stockholders gathering, and book auditing by George McCullough in Humboldt.
