News Gym Auditorium Opens at Wesley
Wesley opened its new gymnasium and auditorium adjoining the old high school. The school district voted a $10,895 PWA grant toward a $28,100 project, a 66 by 71 foot brick building erected by J. C. Mayer Construction of Clarion with Keffer and Jones of Des Moines as architects. The facility will host athletics, training, plays, programs, PT classes, and other educational activities.

William Bauman Dies in Lakota at 76
William Bauman a Lakota resident died in his sleep at his brother August’s home after visiting from north of town. Born in Germany he was 76 years, 6 months, and 16 days old. Funeral services were held at the home and Lutheran church with Rev. A. F. Beese officiating, burial in Lutheran cemetery east of town. Pallbearers were six grandsons. He leaves two daughters Mrs. John Geerdes Sweat City and Mrs. Bertha Weringa Lakota, and three sons Fred Ledyard, William Lakota, George Lakota.
