Titania Board Advances Graduation and Curriculum Changes
The Titania Board of Education held a special session on January 25 to revise high school graduation requirements and update both secondary and elementary curricula. Changes include fewer required courses, more elective options, and keeping 17 Carnegie Units. New social studies require American history and government, while world history is removed. An emphasis on one semester courses aims to boost student and parent choice. The superintendent also pitched the Individually Guided Education Program for elementary grades, favoring non graded progress, per Iowa guidance, with further plans to be drafted before formal action.
