The Auxiliary to Kennedy Post 4071 met December 14 in the new library room with 16 men present. Plans included gifts for a school record stand, stockings for children, towels for teachers, a TB Christmas seal donation, and a Christmas party with bingo and a gift exchange. The Wesley Boys 4-H Club met December 9 initiating four members and will carol on December 23 for shut ins with a pancake supper planned for Dads and 4-H calf weights next year.
The Titonka Woman's Club held its December meeting and annual Christmas Party at the Henry Orthel home with Doris Miller presiding. Members shared favorite Christmas hymns, enjoyed a program featuring readings and Christmas messages, and were treated to a candlelight ceremony and lunch. Next meeting is January 7 at Laura Nicholson home to discuss community affairs and services.
Dverg Krantz of Titanka son of Mr and Mrs Clifford Krantz was among 23 Iowa State University students initiated into Alpha Zeta agriculture honor society. Formal initiation was held Thursday evening December 10 in Memorial Union.
The 1965 Farmer's Tax Guide prepared by the Internal Revenue Service is at the Kossuth County Extension Office. County extension director Galen DeValois says the book explains completing the 1964 federal income tax return with examples and summaries of 1964 tax laws including lower rates for farmers.

The hot lunch plan for the week lists meals for Monday through Wednesday. Monday serves creamed hamburger over mashed potatoes with biscuit and butter, stewed tomatoes, peach sauce, and milk. Tuesday offers baked beans and meat sandwich with buttered corn, purple plums, and milk. Wednesday features buttered turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy, bread and butter, buttered peas, ribbon dessert, Christmas cookie, and milk.
