Farm Outlook Optimistic on Cattle Future Through Kassuth Extension
The Department of Agriculture foresees a favorable three to four year period for the cattle industry. The current cycle, begun in 1958, shows slower early growth than the 1949-57 cycle due to limited beef heifer additions and a feeding surge driving heifers to feedlots and slaughter. The outlook emphasizes demand and supply dynamics shaping near term prospects.
