Farm economist predicts 1959 price shifts and 1960 carryover
Iowa State College economist Fran cis Kutish projects lower feed grain prices in spring and summer 1959 with higher cattle numbers and a record carryover of feed grains into 1960. Hog prices are seen dropping late winter and spring 1959, with a weaker hog corn price ratio but not enough to trigger production cuts. Poultry and egg prices should fall early 1959, leading to smaller chick hatches and more hen culling next summer.
