Woden News Bazaar and Supper at Presbyterian Church
The Presbyterian aid will hold an annual bazaar and chicken supper at the church basement on Wednesday December 8. American Legion Auxiliary Christmas Party Plans and News
Twenty seven members attended the membership party at the Legion hall Friday with Lois Peterson as hostess. The December meeting is set for Monday Dec 6 with Hazabeth Kennedy and Becca Hipp as hostesses. A Christmas gift exchange and games will follow the business session. Gifts capped at 50 cents. Packages for veterans gift shop and Department office shelf will be prepared. On Dec 18 boxes of homemade candy will be sent to Knoxville. Sympathy extended to Mr and Mrs Norman Lockrem for their anxious moment after their little KayAnn fell from a car. her recovery is reported good. Mrs Lockrem is Pan American chairman this year.

W. A. Murray Leading Citizen Dies at Bancroft
Art Murray prominent north Iowa figure died at his Bancroft home last Wednesday evening at 58 after years of ill health. Survived by wife, four sons, one daughter, and three sisters with two sisters predeceasing him. His life included World War I service, grain business leadership, ownership of about 14 Bancroft area farms, and youth baseball work through Junior Legion.

Fire Out 17 Days Comes To Life Again
Titonka residents faced a strange aftereffect when a November 8 fire at the Titonka Locker damaged the building and rooms above. Fire seemed extinguished but a lingering smoke smell returned 17 days later. Inspectors found smoke seeping from a wall in the compressor room and dampened hot cork insulation with a garden hose in an attempt to halt the blaze.
