Titonka Topic announces its status as second class mail matter at the post office in Titonka Iowa. Publisher Lee D Wolfe notes subscription rates of 1.80 per year if paid in advance and 9.60 per year mailed to Canada.

The death of Mrs. Louise Senne is announced. Born April 1, 1847 in Windheim Westphalia Germany she was the daughter of Carl. Her passing marks the loss of a longtime community pioneer.
Herman Boelts died at age 76 after heart trouble and other complications. Born June 20 1857 in Wester shops Germany he lived in Grundy county Woden Sheffield and Austinville Iowa with eight children and 21 grandchildren. Funeral note from Rev A Killan praises eternal life.
Mrs. R L Krants hosted her bridge club with high score by Mrs H I Torgersen. Guests included Mrs M S Graven and others. Mrs Carrie Bonacker led an auxiliary sewing meeting. Mrs J D Breen and Mrs Camilla Cooper attended. Birthday girl Faith Faul hosted Home Guards and Mary Jean Rachut with a post game lunch.
Mrs J D Breen celebrated her birthday with an afternoon gathering and lunch on Wednesday. Billy Schutter turned four and entertained eight friends with games and candy before a lunch of ice cream cake and cookies. Guests included Dickey Schutter Liis Schram Mildred Beth Schutter Dean Oesterreicher Mary Jane Bleich Wanda Young Wilbur Christensen Dale Jensen and several Mrs Geo Schutter Mrs T Young Mrs C Christesen Mrs Martin Bletch Mrs Wm Schram Mrs Clarence Schutter and Mrs C G Dennis.
In Austin Minnesota a gardener faced chicken damage to his garden. He used strings with cards reading Please keep me at home attached to kernels of corn. The birds pulled the strings, found the signs, and returned home, sparing the garden and giving the gardener a peaceful ending.
