Judging Team Wins at District Holstein Show
The Kossuth County 4-H judging team topped eight teams at the district Holstein show in Spencer on August 7 with Gerald Reding of St. Joe second high 4-H judge. Team members included Gene Nurre Bancroft Dennis Schoby Bode and Roger Drever Fenton. In junior open class Bob Chambers Corwith won high honors and a Samsonite suitcase. At the North Town Fair on August 10 the team placed third among eight teams. Dick Kuecker Lotts Creek was second high individual with 321. Other members were Dennis Schoby Roger Dreyer and Gene Nurre. In the KGLO judging contest Gerald Reding placed seventh 236 and Dick Kuecker tenth 233 among sixty-plus contestants from north Iowa. Unnamed Kossuth members and forty more north Iowa 4-Hers also competed including David Stewart Burt Bob Chambers Corinth and Daniel Show Wesley. Also notes a baking powder biscuit dough tip for neater shaping.
