Winter family mourns Hattie Whiter at Buffalo Center
Mrs Hattie Whiter died after four months illness at age 84. Born in Germany in 1843, she emigrated in 1863 and settled first in Thualg before moving to Iowa in 1892 near Buffalo Center. Survived by husband Abbe and four sons Epko Henry Wm Abie. Funeral held at Buffalo Center with interment in local cemetery.

Accident at St Josephs Church Shingling Ends in Injury
Wilbur Holdren fell from a scaffold while shingling St Josephs church last Saturday afternoon in Algona causing a broken back and multiple injuries. He has remained in critical condition at Kassuth hospital with little improvement. Nearby, Lester Callies digs a basement on a lot south of Bruns residence for a planned move of Elmer Potrason farm home and also improves his cottage with a basement and other upgrades.
