On July 8 1946 the Planz party left Titonka for Hanover Ontario visiting Cedar Rapids Gary Indiana and Lake Michigan. They crossed into Canada at Port Huron toured Kincardine and Tobermory rode the M and Normac ferry to Manitoulin Island then returned via Sault Ste. Marie Milwaukee and Green Bay ending home tired but happy.

Mrs H C Snyder of Algona reports their son Claire, stricken with infantile paralysis two weeks ago, improving at Iowa City hospital. The isolation ward nurse said he is getting along fine, with left arm still affected but able to walk. He is out of isolation and may receive visitors each afternoon, grateful for cards and letters.
