Miss Margery Butler visited at the home of Mr and Mrs Henry Butler and was a weekend guest of Miss Velma Larsen of Fort Sill. Raymond Franzen, formerly stationed at Camp Chafee, has now reported at Fort Sill.
A welcome rain drenched the area over the past weekend aiding dry fields as seeding finishes. Neighbors Will Miller and friends including George Swalve Steve Tja den Jim Rippentrop Bert Seil man John Pannkuk and Evert Ubben helped with spring work while Mrs Swalve and Mrs Pannkuk provided lunch. Rev Wm Baddeley and wife visited daughter Mrs Edward Brandt’s family. Mrs Etta Fahrenholtz begins a new home north of the Ben Franzen lot. Dennis and Mrs Dreesman relocate to the Herman Dreesman farm northwest of Titanya after Dennis’ Florida discharge. Dale Helmers moves to the Jagens place in German Valley. Local guests at the Harold Heesch home included the Welhousens Brandts Heeschs and others. Dr Alvin Meyer and wife of St Louis welcomed a daughter born April 24.
Emmanuel Lutheran Church announces worship at 10 am with Sunday School at 9 am and Bible Class. midweek events include Women’s Chorus, Junior Choir, and confirmation instruction. The North Central Group WMF meeting is April 28 at St John’s Woden with Rev Weiss and Miss Adix as speakers. gather for pot luck. May 1 Hawkeye Luther League Federation Rally at Thornton Lutheran starts 2 pm with Ingathering of clothing and shoes to May 2. Ramsey Reformed Church lists Sunday services 9:30 am and 10:30 am with 8 pm evening worship. weekly choir rehearsal 8 pm Wednesday and prayer Thursday 8 pm. Bulletins note interviews.
Mr and Mrs Levant Moore are parents of a seven pound baby girl born Monday evening April 18 at St Ann Hospital named Virginia Kay. Local visits include Frank Walton Plover Emma Fisher Thompson Bernard Phelps home and others in area as families share news and attend services and gatherings.
Mr and Mrs Walter Goche of Bancroft visited friends in the area while Mr Chas Clark and others called at Ray Fitch home. The Larsens returned from seven week trip through Oregon Washington and California with stops in Davenport Wheeler Salem Warrenton Seattle Tacoma and Portland. Durwood Goche home from navy after five years planned summer in Ruthven. The Ringsdorfs and Brink Shipler hosted Sunday dinner. Portland Progress Club met April 21 at Mrs Hervey with dessert discussion on perennials and desserts. Antibiotic feed trials favor chicks fed antibiotics per Iowa State College.
