Titanka School Tax Hike Explained For Titonka District
The article discusses Titanka maintaining a favorable position in state school tax rates and per pupil costs. It notes a new building would add 3.14 dollars per 1000 of assessed value, with rising operating costs from more teachers and space. Adding a teacher for a split grade would raise taxes about 0.50 per 1000, while typical rates for comparable districts run 24 to 25 per thousand, about 6 dollars higher than Titonka in 1953-54.
