Easy Feeding Key To Raising Hogs
A new labor saving hog-raising system is being introduced to farmers. Self feeders operate outside the fence and a diluted condensed milk drink is given daily. One man can raise 1,000 market hogs yearly with minimal help, using a 40 acre layout for two hog crops a year. Breeding is timed for March and August to match peak prices. The ration uses 4% bushels of corn, 33 pounds of 40 percent protein supplement, and 32 pounds of condensed milk product per 100 pounds gain. Local dealers are distributing blueprints and plans.
