Jurina Wessel Bruns, born in Aetna township, Hardin County Iowa, daughter of George Wassuly and Johanna Von Backerns Weasely, died March hat home in Tracy at age 88 months and 29 days. She married John H Bruns in 1870 and lived farming in Ackley and northern Iowa before moving to Minnesota in 1898 then Tracy. survived by 11 children, 44 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. Funeral service held March 8 at home with Rev Rov B Jones officiating. burial in Tracy city cemetery.

Rey Heyes Sr. announces the death of Ben Heyes Sp. on Thursday March 22. He was born November 2, 1860 in Verli Molland and lived in Austinville Iowa before settling in this community. He married Tsun Broesder on August 16, 1872, a union that would have marked its 75th anniversary if he had lived until then. Survived by his wife of 47 years, eight children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. predeceased by eight children. He endured long illness and declining vitality, with family and friends expressing gratitude for care given in his final years.

Staggs Celebrate Golden Wedding in Iron River
In Iron River Wisconsin a March 29 1934 golden wedding anniversary for Mr and Mrs Charlie W Stagg drew about four hundred relatives friends and neighbors to Trip Town Hall School. The program featured a procession a German song encore a tap dance and several old time tunes followed by supper and dancing. Dozens of Stagg relatives attended from Milwaukee Superior and nearby towns bearing gifts and well wishes for the couple and their family.

County Champion Marjorie Jensen Wins Algona Spelling Contest

Heavy rain follows snow on Friday in northern Iowa
Fr iday night snow drifted to eight inches in northern Iowa and by Sunday night six inches of precipitation caused flooding in Titanka and surrounding areas. Many basements, especially on main street, were under water Monday as rain continued into Tuesday morning. Buffalo Creek ran high with steam out of its banks.

Mr. Frank Kaufmann, who lived with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Trujisman for fifteen years, died of pleural pneumonia March 28 and was buried March 30 with Rev. H. W. Schoen Juin officiating. German service next Sunday at 10:30, Sunday School at 9:30. A number of children attended Sunday School for the first time. Parents are urged to bring their children. Ralph Jain is ill with German measles.

In Algona the National Reemployment Service, over Iowa State Bank with interviewer T. A. Trauger, operates a busy office. Last week 16 men and 2 women obtained jobs. All CWA unemployment has been handed to the service. No charges are made to employers or job seekers. County Board Sells Refunding Bonds at 3.75 Percent
At a recent board meeting the Board of Supervisors sold 452000 in Primary Road Refunding Bonds to Halsey Stuart Co. of Des Moines and Chicago. The issue carried a premium of 11001 and bears interest at 3.75 percent. Dated May 1 1934 the bonds mature with 10000 on May 1 1943 22000 on May 1 1944 and 70000 annually 1945 to 1950. Several prominent houses bid on the issue.
