A garbled OCR snippet yields a partial local notice with unreadable names and dates. Readable pieces mention a likely action and officials but key details are unclear. Further clean text needed to confirm exact entities and deadlines.
The Titonka Topic reports on spelling 100s in each grade, a note of eighth grade competition with Dick Metcalf winning third in an Americanism theme, and weekly activities. Seventh graders discuss arithmetic, current events on Finland Russia, forest conservation, and film, while sixth graders note spelling 100s, history work, knights pictures, and local town slides. Fifth graders tally 100s in spelling and enjoy programs on the Pan American highway and Latin America.
In the fourth grade the class decorated rooms with aliouette figures and daffodils. Students wrote to former teacher Mrs. Nelson wishing her a speedy recovery in Rochester. They study the French and English wars and figures like George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. They discuss proper clothing for different weathers, read Joe about a trapper's dog, and celebrate Saren's birthday with candy bars. The unit on reading is complete and they will start Young Citizens of Other Lands.
