The anniversary service conducted by Pastor D Finlayson B A and Rev Finlayson featured a sermon on Christ as head of the Church based on Col 2 18 14. The message urged growth in faith family devotion and community reform through true religion and unity. A full choir and solo by Mes F A Argall enhanced the service.
A Valparaiso picnic drew a large crowd with both married and single men playing hard in a 16-2 veterans win. The highlight was a tense juvenile game between the Star City Panthers and Tisdale Tiger Cubs, featuring heat fatigue and a late rally as Glynn and Seliell aided the Cubs to a final score around 11-? All participants enjoyed the day despite rough conditions.
A new mate EBe was instituted at a Wednesday night event led by H. W. G. Aprstt Grand Organizer of Saskatoon. Attendees from town helped in the ritual opening as elections and officer installations were held, with Georges I York as W M and D H Doherty as D W M among those elected.
The Village Council met at 8 30 p m with all councillors present. Minutes of previous meetings were read and adopted. A request from O D Hill for bylaw to grant Tisdale Trading and Milling Company Ltd permission to erect poles and wires for electricity was discussed. The secretary was instructed to involve Mr A M Stewart in handling the papers. Communications from the Canadian Northern Railway regarding reassessment of blocks 20 to 24 Tisdale were filed. Councillors McGown and Argall authorized purchase of a handsaw and hammer for the village. Accounts for Paris Tisdale Recorder and others were passed.
The Rural Municipality of Comnaught met at Silver Stream on Saturday June 6 with Reeve McPhail and Councillors Hurley Pearse VeRue Green Farmer and McIntyre present. The meeting considered Ontario Windmill core wells, highway compensation for land for bridge deviations, compensation arbitration for Wm Dempsey, claims for doctor fees during smallpox, weeds charges against Shoyen, and sending a secretary to Regina to review highway matters before adjourning to July 11.
