Public notices urge sidewalk work and confirm Judge Rothrock’s stay. Tercentennial price quotes and upcoming lectures spark civic interest in Tipton Iowa.
Town council meets in Tipton with Mayor Wm Elliott presiding. A remonstrance against an auctioneers tax is referred to committee. Sidewalks are authorized on several blocks. Licenses for auctioneers, transient salesmen, peddlers and jewelry peddlers are set with amendments. A Board of Health is created and a Marshall elected. Adjournment to May 1. Also discusses Fortieth Congress and local crime notes.
