Summer Concerts at Washington Park in Homewood Planned
Twenty one acts across sixteen evening shows begin June 28 at Washington Park racetrack. Acts include Tony Orlando and Dawn, Gordon Lightfoot, the Bee Gees, Joan Baez, James Taylor, Roberta Flack, Seals and Crofts, the Eagles, Three Dog Night and America with Ferrante and Teicher possibly aimed at older crowds. Tickets go on sale Sunday at Ticketron and Monday at the park with prices to be set by Triangle Productions based on popularity and crowd size. Concerts run 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. with reserved seating, rain dates for all but the Osmonds, and parking included. The track owner Madison Square Garden supervises liquor sales. Triangle will provide sound, with some groups using their own equipment. Additional shows possible. eight concerts at varying crowd caps total up to 32.
