Gately’s Peoples Store, a Chicago department store for 79 years, plans a second outlet in Brementowne Mall near 159th street and Oak Park avenue in the southwest suburbs. Final site and theater relocation remain under negotiation with Mayor John Dunn and developers Jack Jacobs. possible locations include Tinley Park Oak Forest or Orland Park while Roseland remains its current home.

Tinley Park officials opened bids for municipal revenue bonds from Columbian Securities Inc at 5.8091 percent and for renovation of water storage tanks from Schuster Equipment at 1 687.50 for 11 000 gallons. Platt Inc bid 1 748. Sealed bids for sewer jets were not received. The project, including two five million gallon tanks and a pump station, totals about 1.2 million with a target first delivery by October 1. Mayor John Dunn and Trustee Richard Durkin commented on the significant spending.

Tinley Park residents may tour the new municipal building Sunday from 1 to 5 PM with a 1 PM dedication led by state and local officials. The complex houses the village clerk’s office police and fire departments council chambers and meeting rooms with refreshments by the civil defense auxiliary.
