The storm lashed the southwest suburbs with 50 to 75 mph winds tearing the Lally Brothers Division of FireTrol Corp roof and causing a collapse. Damage estimated between 65 000 and 75 000 by VP Richard Lasky with about 20 000 more in repairs needed.

Guilty Verdict Dismisses Peyton From Tinley Park Police

Tinley Park officer James H. Peyton Jr. was found guilty of conduct unbecoming a police officer and dismissed after the civil service commission voted 2 to 1 that he obtained unauthorized control of shaving equipment and razors at a Seven-Eleven in the Brementowne mall on Feb 26. The ruling followed testimony from Eastman and Seeley. Peyton, 25, had served 3 years 8 months. he plans to appeal.

Park District Still Without A Superintendent

The Tinley Park park district remains without a superintendent as applications for the post are processed. Board president Joseph Strbik expects a new chief to be appointed in the third or fourth quarter. The vacancy followed Ronald Bruning’s resignation last April.
