Tinley Park trustees finalize the $2.2 million budget with two sets of police salary figures under review at a sunrise Saturday session. The ordinance caps yearlong spending, while actual expenditures are expected near $1.4 million.
Builder Robert Kaup sought to exceed the village plan commission limit to 10 condo units per acre on a 40 acre site at 80th Avenue and 167th Street. He proposed 360 units on 36 acres with a four acre commercial complex. The board denied the request, blocking the higher density plan.
Oak Forest High School additions are moving ahead with six wings under construction by Bremen district 228, led by Emmett Boyer. Steel framing, footings, and foundations are visible on multiple sides while a state inspector orders hard hats. The project will expand capacity from 750 to about 2000 students and include new admin, shop, and academic spaces. site work, football field sod replacement, and future track and bleachers are underway.
