Oak Forest board of trustees and mayoral hopefuls voiced strong frustration after a Monday special session intended to clarify petition filing rules. Candidates called the session a waste and said they left with little usable guidance, while William Jones urged a clear and fair process to avoid challenges.
Oak Forest eyes May Ecology Month to clean the city with a block by block cleanup, tree plantings, and student art projects. Activities run May 1 to 31, with May 5 unveiling of ecology art at Interstate Bank. Donations include 5000 litter bags from Continental Can and 7000 ecology flag stickers from the bank.
