Junior Girl Scout Troop 315 leads a town time capsule project to be sealed July 4 1976 and opened 25 years later. Volunteers from Districts 140 and 146 and village groups will contribute memorabilia from photos to mood rings. Costly capsule options range from wood above ground designs to stainless steel encasement. the project aims to include broad community participation while keeping it within Tinley Park bounds.

Rock Island Parking Lot Plan Unveiled in Tinley Park Hearing
The $1.076 million Rock Island commuter parking project was revealed at a Tinley Park hearing with IDOT officials and residents. Plans move to Springfield for approval then to UMTA in Washington. The dual stations at Oak Park and 80th avenues aim to ease Oak Park congestion and serve a 16 square mile Tinley Park area. Oak Park space repaving 192 spots. new 583 spaces at 80th avenue station.

Tinley Park narrows manager search to two candidates
Tinley Park trustees narrowed a nationwide search for a new village manager to two finalists after a special meeting. The board will interview both candidates again before deciding whether to hire, with a January 1 start anticipated. The effort replaces Richard Gregg, Tinley Park’s first manager, who resigned in May.
