Villa Indictment Handed Down in Tinley Park Shooting
Cook county grand jury charged 19 year old Donald J Villa with seven counts including one attempted murder two armed robbery counts and four aggravated battery counts. The indictments relate to the July 12 shooting of Tinley Park Patrolman Louis Jogmen and the Brementowne 7 11 holdup. Villa is listed in fair condition at Oak Forest Hospital undergoing rehabilitation after the shooting and alleged weapon discharge. Det Tom Hayes and Asst State's Attorney Cliff Johnson described the indictment after about 20 minutes of testimony.

No Dist 118 Strike Averted After Long Negotiations
Teachers in Community Consolidated School District 118 averted a full strike after a nine hour negotiation reached a partial settlement for the 1977 78 contract. Paris Education Association president Hilary Nagrodski said details are to be worked out and publicized likely Monday. District schools will open Tuesday with a half day for grades 1 8 and full classes start Wednesday with Palos South Junior High at 830 am and Palos East and West Elementary at 9 am.
