Trustee Robert Mason introduced a 10 year grant impact plan designed to reflect community representation. The proposal was unveiled at a village hall press conference and presented to the full board, where it was adopted.
The village board passed measures to create a consumer protection office with arrest powers and goods seizure for violators. They require weighing and marking prepackaged items, grade marks on perishables, truthful gasoline labeling, and accurate scales in weight-based sales.
Kaufman and Broad Homes moves toward annexing a 220 acre site west of Tinley Park with 1,000 homes after a 4 to 3 village board vote. Mayor Dunn cast the deciding ballot. Trustees Durkin Mason Montecki voted yes with conditions. Landau Rea Fulton voted no citing concerns over records, zoning moratorium, and oversight.
Mayor John Dunn and Tinley Park trustees propose a plan to fund drainage improvements in Sundale Ridge. The village will cover 25 percent of a $20,000 estimate, with residents paying 75 percent through regular taxes and no special assessments planned. Local engineers cite storm sewer extensions or grading fixes as options while residents debate the best approach.
