A fire at Wheeler Lumber Company in Wheeler Oregon destroyed two dry kilns worth about 8000 dollars and damaged lumber. With 200 men and two fire pumps, workers saved the planer shed dry shed and mill. The blaze started around 9 o'clock and was under control by 11. Combustion is suspected as the cause of Wheeler's largest blaze in years.
