Interesting Detroit Tour by Miss Birdsall and Gladys Cooper
Miss Birdsall and I toured Detroit in June, detailing the city’s history and growth. We describe the Detroit river harbor, Woodward Avenue, Grand Boulevard, parks, and major structures including the General Motors Building, Ford plant, Fisher Building, and the Masonic Temple. We also visited Windsor across the river, Belle Isle, Palmer Park, Briggs Stadium, and the Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak with its massive tower and an extensive interior, then spent a day at Greenfield Village and the Edison Institute Museum in Dearborn exploring historic architecture and exhibits.

Old Time Shops and Crafts Takings Hold At Fair
A century of retail life is depicted in a street fair display showing relic shop equipment and dusty signs. Cigar stores broadstreet corners and crafts such as millinery, violin, gun, locksmith, barber, leather, toy, and East India shops are pictured with period tools. Agricultural stands trace crop preparation gear from old to newer methods, including rakes, flails, and threshers as the scene moves toward steam powered industry.
