Charles Summer Ervin 86 of Savanna died Sunday night in a Galena nursing home where he had been a patient four months. He was a former Milwaukee Road boilermaker and lived in Savanna 40 years. Survived by son Joseph of Thomson, brother Chester of Kenosha, sister Mae Ervin and two brothers Lee and Merle. wife Elizabeth Kreuder died 1951. parents and six brothers preceded him. Funeral 2 PM Wednesday at Law-Jones Funeral Home Savanna. Burial Savanna Township Cemetery. Reverend Thomas Mohn of Thomson Methodist Church officiated. Born August 7, 1879 in York Township, Carroll County.
