Thomson Woman Fatally Injured in Auto Crash Near Morrison
Mrs. Howard Pearl Buckley 49 of Thomson died after a two car collision five miles west of Morrison on US 30. Bailey of Fulton and Harris of Prophetstown were treated and released. Visitation and funeral details followed at Savanna and Dubuque churches with burial at Mount Calvary. She was born June 4 1919 in Dubuque and had lived in Thomson 20 years while working at General Electric Morrison. She is survived by her husband a son and multiple relatives.

Power outage near Thomson and Savanna blamed on rifle fire
Interstate Power Company officials told the Thomson Review that a fiber of insulators was damaged by rifle fire, causing a short that sparked as it began to rain. An electrical pole near the railroad tracks southeast of Savanna was destroyed by fire, interrupting service for about one percent of an hour at 1:25 this morning.

Chadwick Couple Injured in Route 78 Truck Crash
A Chadwick couple were injured on Route 78 south of Ideal around 5 p.m. Wednesday when their northbound car left the highway to avoid a southbound pickup driven by Ralph Ragland leaving the roadway. Mrs Doris Moen, 19, was treated at Morrison Community Hospital. her husband was only lightly hurt. Ragland, 42, of Shannon, was not injured. Moon auto damage estimated at 1800 dollars. Ragland was charged with an improper turn.

Two-Truck Crash Injures Three Near Thomson
On Route 171 about one mile south of Argott two Thomson residents the Sharikans were northbound and turning into a farm driveway when struck by Cheryl Hook 16 of rural Thomson who was southbound. The Sharikans were taken to Mercy hospital Clinton and released Wednesday. Cheryl treated for chin cuts and leg abrasions. The 1969 trucks sustained extensive damage. Sheriff Miller charged Mr Sharik an with failure to yield the right of way.
