Sheep killed by dogs in Carroll County claims paid

Carroll County treasurer Frank Ross reported payments for livestock killed or injured by dogs from March 1 1936 to March 1 1987. Hawk Invasion Shatters Car Window on Sunday Drive

Miss Mary Trader and her mother Mrs Grace Trader of Savanna were driving near Chestnut Park when a large hawk attacked the coupe. The bird struck the rear window, then clawed and scratched Mrs Trader while two men, Edward Hayes and William OLeary, followed and reported the hawk stood about five feet from the car.
