The Thomson American Legion Auxiliary held its February meeting with ten members and three visitors. Mrs Geneva Newmann, the thirteenth District Director, spoke on aiding disabled veterans and listed needed items such as old nylons and patterns for women patients. The group planned a March 21 potluck for the Legion’s Birthday and will meet March 4 to prepare tray favors. The Redbook feature on blood donations was noted, and the County Council gathering is set for March 9, 1966 at Savanna.

Funeral Services Held Saturday For Wayne P. Ashby
Funeral services for Wayne P. Ashby of Thomson who died last Wednesday at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City were held Saturday at 2 pm in the Thomson Methodist Church. Officiating were Rev. Albert Ihne and Rev. Thomas Mohn. Burial was in Lower York Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post No. 1025. Attending from a distance included Wayne Ashby Jr. of Fullerton and others from multiple Illinois and Iowa towns.

Thomson Cub Scouts Pack 252 held their annual Blue and Gold banquet in the school cafeteria with a pot luck supper. Webelos presented opening and closing ceremonies. Special guests were Rev.
