John I Shoemaker longtime Thompson resident dies at his Thomson home aged about 70. Born April 22 1877 in York township Illinois he lived his life in the community. Survived by wife Mas Voetorine Smith daughter Bertha Brenneman two sisters and a brother plus many relatives and friends. Services attended by many from out of town and affectionate tributes note his honesty generosity and public spirit. Card of Thanks expresses gratitude to friends and mentions a surprise gathering for Ivan Garsell and his bride hosted by local Baptists.
